On January 27, the Thailand Sustainable Development Foundation has launched a new book titled “Thailand’s Sustainable Business Guide”, which focuses on the application of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy in the business realm and is the first guidebook to ensure corporate sustainability in the country.

The launching ceremony for “Thailand’s Sustainable Business Guide” was presided over by Mr Isara Vongkulsolkit, Senior Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand. The book is published in English by Editions Didier Millet (EDM) in collaboration with the Thailand Sustainable Development Foundation, aiming to advise business executives on how to incorporate the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej in their undertakings.

With 344 pages and 24 chapters, the book’s contents concern three major issues, consisting of the relationship between business and sustainable development, application of sustainability to business and practical ways to adopt the Sufficiency Economy concept in each business segment. CMMU Sufficiency Economy research in the business sector is also featured in this guide book.

All of its contents were reviewed by a board of distinguished figures in the Thai economy and business world, including the former and current governors of the Bank of Thailand, Dr Prasarn Trairatvorakul and Dr Veerathai Santiprabhob respectively, Mr Kitti Wasinondh, a former ambassador to the United Kingdom, Mr Isara Vongkusolkit, Chairman of Mitr Phol Group, and CMMU’s Associate Professor Dr Sooksan Kantabutra. In addition, CMMU’s Assistant Professor Dr Randall Shannon, as an expert in retailing in Thailand, also contributed his research in the guidebook’s retailing section.

The book is now available for purchase at major book stores and online at Amazon.com.
