หลักสูตรเภสัชศาสตรบัณฑิต
หลักสูตรเภสัชศาสตรบัณฑิต (Doctor of Pharmacy Program) มุ่งเน้นการผลิตบัณฑิตโดยอาศัยหลักการที่เรียกว่า Outcomes based Education (Program Learning Outcomes : PLOs) หรือ การศึกษาที่มุ่งเน้นผลสัมฤทธิ์ในการศึกษา จึงทำให้เกิดห้องเรียนที่เรียกว่า Smart ClassRoom เพื่อเพิ่มโอกาสในการติดต่อสื่อสารระหว่างอาจารย์และนักศึกษา สามารถรวบรวมความคิดเห็น ความเข้าใจ หรือปัญหาของนักศึกษาได้ทันที ดังนั้น Smart ClassRoom จึงมีความสำคัญในการกระตุ้นกระบวนการเรียนรู้ (Process of Learning) ของนักศึกษา นอกจากนี้ยังมุ่งผลิตบัณฑิตให้เป็นเภสัชกรที่มีความรู้ ความสามารถ เหมาะสมต่อการปฏิบัติหน้าที่ในฐานะเภสัชกร ที่มีคุณธรรม จริยธรรม ประพฤติตนตามจรรยาบรรณแห่งวิชาชีพเภสัชกรรม และมีทักษะการทำงานที่หลากหลาย ทั้งทางด้านเภสัชกรรมอุตสาหการ และด้านการบริบาลทางเภสัชกรรมตามเกณฑ์มาตรฐานการประกอบวิชาชีพเภสัชกรรม

แนะนำการเรียน
ปีที่ 1 : ศึกษาเกี่ยวกับรายวิชาพื้นฐานทางวิทยาศาสตร์ ชีววิทยา เคมี สถิติ ฟิสิกส์ และวิชาศึกษาทั่วไป ได้แก่ วิชา ภาษาอังกฤษระดับต่างๆ ,ศิลปะการใช้ภาษาไทยเพื่อการสื่อสาร, การศึกษาทั่วไปเพื่อการพัฒนามนุษย์ รวมทั้งรายวิชาเบื้องต้นเพื่อแนะนำเข้าสู่วิชาชีพ ได้แก่วิชาแนะนำวิชาชีพเภสัชกรรม วิชาเภสัช พฤกษศาสตร์ เป็นต้น
ปีที่ 2 : ศึกษาเกี่ยวกับรายวิชาพื้นฐานวิชาชีพในด้านต่างๆ ได้แก่ วิชาจุลชีววิทยาทั่วไป วิทยาภูมิคุ้มกันสำหรับ เภสัชศาสตร์ ชีวเคมี ชีวเคมีของมนุษย์และโรค หลักการเคมีในเภสัชศาสตร์ เคมีของยาพื้นฐาน เภสัช วิเคราะห์ เภสัชการ 1 กายวิภาคศาสตร์และสรีรวิทยาของมนุษย์ เภสัชวินิจฉัย มุมมองทางสังคมและ วัฒนธรรมต่อสุขภาวะและความเจ็บป่วย และทักษะการคิดและการแก้ปัญหา 1
ปีที่ 3 : ศึกษาเกี่ยวกับรายวิชาชีพชั้นต้น ได้แก่ วิชาเภสัชจุลชีววิทยา เภสัชวิทยา1-2 เคมีของยา 1-2 พยาธิ สรีรวิทยา เภสัชการ 2-3 ชีวเภสัชและเภสัชจลนศาสตร์ ยาจากสมุนไพร 1 ระบบสุขภาพและเภสัชกรรม และทักษะการคิดและการแก้ปัญหา 2 และเริ่มเข้าสู่การเตรียมความพร้อมสำหรับการฝึกปฏิบัติงาน โดยมี โครงการฝึกงาน early exposure เพื่อฝึกทักษะเบื้องต้นการฝึกปฏิบัติงานในโรงพยาบาล และโรงงาน ให้กับนักศึกษาตามความสมัครใจ ไม่ได้อยู่ในแผนการศึกษา
ปีที่ 4 : ศึกษาเกี่ยวกับรายวิชาชีพในด้านต่างๆ ได้แก่ วิชาจุลชีววิทยาคลินิก วิทยาการระบาดทางเภสัช เภสัชวิทยา 3 เภสัชกรรมคลินิกและการรักษาโรค1-4 เภสัชการ 3 พิษวิทยาคลินิก ทักษะทางเภสัชกรรมปฏิบัติ 1-2 อาหารเคมี เภสัชเศรษฐศาสตร์ การสื่อสารเชิงวิชาชีพ กฎหมายและจรรยาบรรณทางเภสัชกรรม ระเบียบ วิธีเชิงปริมาณและสถิติในเภสัชกรรม ความปลอดภัยของผู้ป่วย และทักษะการคิดและการแก้ปัญหา 3
เมื่อจบชั้นปีที่ 4 ในช่วงภาคฤดูร้อน นักศึกษาจะเข้าสู่การฝึกปฏิบัติงานภาคบังคับ ซึ่งเป็นการฝึกปฏิบัติงานตามระบบของ ศ.ศ.ภ.ท ในโรงพยาบาล และ ร้านยา โดยนศ.จะฝึกปฏิบัติงาน 2 ผลัดๆ ละ 22-25 วัน (จำนวนไม่น้อยกว่า 200 ชม.ต่อผลัด) หลังจากฝึกปฏิบัติงานผลัดที่ 1 นักศึกษาจะต้องเลือกสาขาเพื่อเข้าสู่ชั้นปีที่ 5 ซึ่งมีให้เลือก 2 สาขา คือ สาขาการบริบาลทางเภสัชกรรม (Pharm. Care) สาขาเภสัชกรรมอุตสาหการ (Pharm. Sci.) และเตรียมตัวสำหรับการสอบใบประกอบวิชาชีพในส่วนของสมรรถนะร่วม (PLE-CC1-2)
ปีที่ 5 : ศึกษารายวิชาชีพในสาขาที่นักศึกษาเลือก
- สาขาการบริบาลทางเภสัชกรรม (Pharm. Care) ได้แก่วิชาการปฏิบัติเภสัชศาสตร์สนเทศ เภสัชกรรมคลินิกและการรักษาโรค 5 ทักษะทางเภสัชกรรมปฏิบัติ 3 บทนำสู่การฝึกปฏิบัติงานการบริบาลทางเภสัชกรรม การเตรียมยาเฉพาะคราวทางเภสัชกรรม เภสัชจลนศาสตร์คลินิก การประเมินคุณภาพผลิตภัณฑ์ยาในทางปฏิบัติ พฤกษบำบัดอิงหลักฐาน ผลิตภัณฑ์ชีวภาพ วิชาเลือกวิชาชีพ และการทำโครงการพิเศษ
- สาขาเภสัชกรรมอุตสาหการ (Pharm. Sci.) ได้แก่วิชา การพัฒนาวิธีวิเคราะห์ การเตรียมยาเฉพาะคราวทางเภสัชกรรม การค้นพบ ออกแบบ และพัฒนายา พฤกษเภสัชศาสตร์ ผลิตภัณฑ์ชีวภาพ การพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ยา ระบบนำส่งยาที่ปลดปล่อยแบบควบคุม หลักการทางเภสัชวิศวกรรม การประกันคุณภาพทางเภสัชภัณฑ์ วิชาเลือกวิชาชีพ และการทำโครงการพิเศษ

ปีที่ 6 : ฝึกปฏิบัติงานวิชาชีพตามสาขา นักศึกษาฝึกปฏิบัติงานโดยมีระยะเวลาการฝึกงานทั้งสิ้น 7 ผลัด เป็น การฝึกปฏิบัติงานในวิชาบังคับ 4 ผลัด วิชาเลือก 3 ผลัด (สาขา Pharm. Care) / การฝึกปฏิบัติงานใน วิชาบังคับ 2 ผลัด วิชาเลือก 5 ผลัด (สาขา Pharm. Sci.) โดยมีจำนวนชม.ฝึกงานรวมทั้งสิ้นไม่น้อยกว่า 1,600 ชม.
สอบใบประกอบวิชาชีพเฉพาะสาขา (PLE-PC1-2/IP1-2)
หมายเหตุ กรณีสอบใบประกอบไม่ผ่าน :
1. ในการเข้าทำงาน จะไม่ได้ค่าใบประกบอวิชาชีพ
2. นักศึกษาที่จบสาย Care จะไม่สามารถเข้าทำงานโรงพยาบาลได้ ยกเว้นนักศึกษาที่จบสาย Science สามารถเข้าทำงานในโรงงานได้

Doctor of Pharmacy Program (International Program)
The Pharm.D. Program (International Program) aims to produce pharmacy graduates who are knowledgeable, competent, and suitable for their professional roles. The program uses the principles of Outcomes-Based Education (Program Learning Outcomes: PLOs), emphasizing achieving educational outcomes. This approach has led to the creation of Smart Classrooms, which enhance communication between professors and students, allowing for immediate collection of student feedback, understanding, and issues. Consequently, Smart Classrooms play a crucial role in stimulating the learning process of students.
The program also focuses on instilling moral integrity, ethics, and positive attitudes towards the pharmacy profession at community, national, and international levels. Graduates will possess diverse skills in pharmaceutical care, with an emphasis on personalized medicine for general and special populations, along with an entrepreneurial mindset. These competencies are aligned with national and international laws and standards, enhancing graduates’ competitive advantage in their careers.

1st Year : The first year of study is taught at Mahidol University International College, Salaya Campus, Mahidol University.
2nd to 5th Year : The second to sixth years of study are taught at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Phayathai Campus, Mahidol University.
6th Year : Professional Practices and Clerkships are provided at designated practice sites.
Study guide
1st Year : Students begin with foundational subjects like General Chemistry and Cell Biology, complemented by courses in Organic Chemistry and Biological Statistics. They hone their academic writing and research skills while exploring ethics and moral reasoning. Diverse societies’ impact on healthcare is examined, alongside fostering a positive mindset and entrepreneurial spirit. Practical skills in statistics and research presentation are emphasized, along with communication and leadership development.
2nd Year : Students focus on foundational professional courses essential for pharmacy practice. They explore microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical analysis, and pharmacy practice. Practical skills are honed through laboratory sessions in drug control and microbiology, while they begin learning about patient assessment and pharmacology.
3rd Year : Students delve into intermediate-level subjects essential for their pharmaceutical careers. They engage with courses covering medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, and pharmaceutical technology, gaining both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Laboratory sessions provide hands-on experience, particularly in areas like medicinal plants, drug control, and quality assurance. Additionally, students begin preparing for real-world scenarios through the Early Exposure Internship program, where they voluntarily immerse themselves in hospital and factory settings to apply their growing expertise in practice.
4th year : Students delve into subjects such as Pharmacoepidemiology, Pharmacoeconomics, Government Affairs and Public Regulation for Health Products, Evidence-based Phytotherapy, Diet Therapy, Pharmacotherapy in Neurological and Psychiatric Diseases, Pharmacotherapy in Hematologic and Oncologic Diseases, Pharmacotherapy in Special Population, Clinical Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacometrics, and Clinical Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacometrics Laboratory. These courses enhance their knowledge and skills in specialized areas of pharmacy practice.
After completing the fourth year, students undergo compulsory practical training in hospitals and pharmacies during the summer. This practical training consists of two shifts, each lasting 22-25 days, with a minimum of 200 hours per shift. Following the first shift, students prepare for the professional license examination (PLE-CC1-2), which is a crucial step towards their professional development and licensure.
5th Year : Students engage in advanced coursework covering various aspects of pharmacy practice. They study subjects like business management, clinical toxicology, personalized medicine, and pharmaceutical product assessment. Additionally, they undertake a Special Project. At the end of the first semester, they sit for the professional license examination (PLE-CC1-2).
6th Year : Participate in professional practice: Undertake Pharmaceutical Care practical shifts, including four mandatory and three elective shifts, totaling at least 1,600 hours.
**Clerkship settings may be either domestic or international settings. In case of international setting, additional fee may be charged.
Sit for the specialized professional license examination (PLE-PC1-2/IP1-2).
Notes for Professional License Exam Failure:
Graduates who fail the exam will not receive a professional license fee.
Graduates from the Pharmaceutical Care track cannot work in hospitals without passing the exam.

Career Opportunities after Graduation
The graduates may pursue the following careers:
1. Hospital Pharmacist: Responsible for drug product selection for the hospital, drug dispensing, advising patients on drug use, patient counseling for any drug-related problems, and extemporaneous compounding of drug preparations for individual patients.
2. Clinical Pharmacist: Involved in the selection of drugs and dosage regimens, monitoring drug efficacy and safety according to disease(s), age, gender, and the excretory functions of the kidneys and liver of patients. Also provides drug information to the healthcare team and patients upon request.
3. Community Pharmacist: Engages in primary care by analyzing symptoms and selecting appropriate drugs for treatment, monitoring drug use in chronic diseases, and promoting health within the community.
4. Family Pharmacist: Cares for patients at their homes, verifying drug use and storage, monitoring the effectiveness of drug use in chronic diseases of bedridden patients, referring patients back to hospitals if necessary, and promoting health within the community.
5. Clinical Research Associate Pharmacist: Conducts research on drug effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, drug non-adherence, incidence of adverse drug events, and related topics.
6. Academic Pharmacist: Provides lectures, writes publications or textbooks to disseminate updated knowledge.
7. Medical Science Liaison Pharmacist: Delivers knowledge on treatments and information about new products to prescribers and related professionals. 8. Independent Work or Business Owner: Manages independent drug stores, chain drug stores, health product businesses, clinical research companies, drug product registration companies, or import/export companies for drugs, cosmeceuticals, or nutraceuticals.
Important note: Majority of the careers listed above may require pharmacy license which the pharmacy licensure examination/application need to follow the specific qualification determined by pharmacy professional bodies or regulations in each country.
Admission
Students from schools in Thailand and overseas
Educational qualifications :
- Studying or graduating from Thai High Schools (M.6) without a specified study plan OR Studying or graduating from International High Schools with Grade 12 in the American system OR Year 13 in the English system OR Obtaining a certificate equivalent to the criteria set by the Ministry of Education, in accordance with the Ministry of Education regulations regarding the comparison of domestic and foreign educational qualifications at the level of basic education B.E. 2563 (documents confirmation).
- High school transcripts must include four science-mathematics subjects, which should include: 1) Chemistry 2) Biology 3) Physics, and 4) Mathematics.
Test scores are as follows :
- A cumulative grade point average (GPAX) of 3.00 or above.
- For Graduate Students, a cumulative grade point average (GPAX) must be shown for 6 semesters.
- For Current Students, a cumulative grade point average (GPAX) must be shown for 4 semesters (Academic Year 2021 and 2022).
- A total score of the IB Diploma must be greater than or equal to 35 points out of 45 points. Alternatively, a total score of International A Level must be at least ABB in three subjects from the science-mathematics subjects: 1) Chemistry, 2) Biology, 3) Physics, and 4) Mathematics. However, applicants studying under the Basic Education Core Curriculum may not be required to present a total score of the IB Diploma or International A Level.
Remarks : Graduates or current students in the final year of high school with other foreign curriculums are also eligible to apply. Consideration and approval will be under the Admission Committee of the Doctor of Pharmacy Program (International Pharmacy School), Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University Academic Year 2024
The standardized test scores are as follows
Knowledge standardized test scores:
- The Biomedical admission test (BMAT) score: No minimum score is required. OR The SAT Subject
- Test (SAT II) score is at least 650 in each of three subjects: 1) Biology M 2) Chemistry 3) Physics or Mathematics 2.
** Please be informed that standardized test scores may be revised due to the suspension of these tests. However, valid scores obtained prior to the suspension remain eligible for application. The new standardized test scores will be announced at a later date, as per Mahidol University.
English language standardized test scores:
- A TOEFL Internet-based (TOEFL – iBT) score of at least 79 OR an IELTS Academic Test score of at least 6.5
** All of these international knowledge standardized test scores and English language standardized test scores from section 2.4 should be dated within two years from the test date to the interview date. **
